Hello,
We are Julienne and Carlie, or Cut & Shoot respectively.
Welcome to our space where we like to share the projects we are working on, the things that inspire us most and what we find interesting at the moment. Whether it's a new recipe or way of eating, a book that spends more time tangled up in the sheets then on our nightstand or a pattern we can't wait to work on again.
Cut's prefered medium to work with is textile and anything it can be molded into. With a dabbling interest in knitted items and growing a somewhat sustainable vegetable garden.
Shoot can be found viewing dear friends & family, life events, or anything that inspires through her lens. Learning editing tricks or conquering a creative endeavor brings a sense of delight.
This is also a space we like to share photos and experiences of some of the events/classes we host together.
Enjoy...
Question We've Pondered (because inquiring minds like to know):

Where did you go to school?
I graduated with a degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Seattle in Seattle, WA
What kind of sewing machine/serger do you use?
I only use Bernina brands as of right now. I find them to be incredibly reliable and I'm able to do pretty much anything I want to on them without feeling like I might hurt the machine. They are an excellent product to work with... I think mine is about 10 or so years old right now and still sewing strong!
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Have you checked out pinterest yet? If not browse through mine or Shoot's. If it's something you want to join I'll send you an invite.
I also draw inspiration from the blogs I read, the way people put themselves together for the day, a great combination of colors and well designed public spaces (libraries, parks, city streets etc).

Where did you go to school?
I went to a small, private university called Hope International University in Fullerton, CA.

What kind of camera/equipment do you use?
My first love is my iPhone. I love the Hipstamatic and Instagram apps for everyday picture taking. I shoot with a Canon Rebel T1i, mostly using my Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. I dream of owning a Canon 5D Mark III someday!

How did you get into photography?
Randomly. I started taking pictures of various events with my iPhone and had so much fun, I thought I would love to have an amazing camera to take pictures with. I started bringing my camera with me everywhere and was encouraged by the feedback I got on my pictures. Now my head is swirling with different ideas.

Also, just a few things to note...
Unless noted otherwise, all our work is generated ourselves, be it photos, ideas for projects, riffs on recipes etc. We work as a team here at Cut and Shoot so for the time being we are not interested in doing any sponsored posts on our blog or yours. This is a space we've taken a lot of thought and time to curate and for now we'd like to keep it exclusive.
We also are not interested in advertising on our blog at the moment. We thank you for your interest and should note that things may change concerning advertising in the future however it's not right for us right now.
Any inquiries concerning these topics should be sent to cut.et.shoot@gmail.com for our consideration.
Thank you.
